The Point Foundation: at the heart of teapigs
Did you know that in every cup of teapigs tea lies a story of empowerment and hope as the team helps to build brighter futures in Rwanda, one classroom, one skill, and one life at a time?
Over the years teapigs has built a remarkable legacy of social responsibility through its support for Rwandan communities, a country where teapigs sources a considerable amount of tea from.
The support is centred on a long-term partnership with the Point Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting orphans, vulnerable children, and disabled young people in Rwanda. What began with donations from two blends has now grown into a commitment to give back from every pack sold in the UK, contributing to over £825,000 raised for the Point Foundation.
The monies raised have enabled a wide range of projects that have brought transformative change to countless lives. Two “teapigs’ houses” offer safe accommodation for teachers, visitors, and students with disabilities attending the Mwogo Vocational Training Centre. New classrooms, a fully equipped library with electricity and internet access, a community hall, and a playground for early childhood development children - plus a cow or two - have all been made possible.
Since 2019, 452 pupils have directly benefited from these resources, and over 2,200 family members have been indirectly supported through vocational training and income-generating skill development programmes, that include specialised training in trades such as tailoring.

From tea to coffee
As part of our continued support for the Point Foundation, we’ve chosen to source Caffe Praego beans for our head office in the UK. Caffe Praego are the 2nd largest donor to the Point Foundation behind teapigs, donating £3 for every case sold.

A canvas of Hope
Born in Rwanda in 1993, Fabrice Girimbabazi lost his parents during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and grew up in the Orphelinat Noel de Nyundo alongside thousands of other children. Raised without a father figure but surrounded by strong women, Fabrice found solace and expression through art.
His creative journey began at École d’Art de Nyundo, where he earned a diploma in Graphic Art and Design in 2014.
When orphanages closed, Fabrice moved to Kigali to pursue his dream of becoming an artist, a dream made possible through the support of organisations like the Point Foundation, who with long-standing backing from teapigs has given young Rwandans like Fabrice the opportunity to build a future full of hope and creativity.
In 2016, Fabrice’s art was exhibited in the USA alongside works by Picasso. In 2025, teapigs commissioned him to create “From Darkness to Light: A Journey of Hope and Resilience”, a painting celebrating transformation, resilience, and the positive impact of support networks.
For Fabrice, every brushstroke is a tribute to healing and growth. His story shows how a little help can spark extraordinary journeys‐one cup, one canvas at a time.
